Five more days to go. This type of eating is not for me. I obviously knew that I wouldn't make this a lifestyle change, but now I know for sure that I need grains! I'm a little disappointed that I didn't have that "Ah-ha" moment of this diet when I just felt absolutely wonderful. I think there are little things that I might not realize...like maybe more energy when I work out or feeling a little better when I get out of bed in the morning. I'm afraid as soon as I go back to eating my old way I'm going to feel like I have a hangover the next morning. I'm still craving sweets and food...but not as bad as before. Seth and I both agree that we just never feel like we can get full on fruit. We also eat nuts, avocado, and other fats to try and get full but it's just not cutting it all the time. Also, tell me...who is not "regular" when all they eat are tons of fruits and vegetables? Me, of course. I guess there is something else wrong with me, but who knows how I"m going to figure that out.
I have discovered some meals and snacks that I love and I will keep eating when I'm through with this.
Some of my new favorite foods:
- Dole Frozen Mango from Sam's Club
- Fresh ground almond butter (we buy at Fresh Market)
- Apples with just cinnamon (I used to put sugar also but it really isn't necessary)
- Fried Apples with cinnamon and hot almond butter drizzled over the top
I have also got in the habit of doing more food prep. So we can easily spice up our scrambled eggs in the morning.
I have lost a little weight despite my best efforts to eat a zillion calories a day. I'm down about 5 pounds. But I also fluctuate weight a lot normally. Seth was thinking he would lose about 10 pounds at least, but he's only down about five.
😍 Good job sticking with this! I am not sure I am that disciplined!
