Change is Never Easy

I don't even know where to start with this post.  I've been avoiding even thinking about it because I've had a range of emotions over the past week and half.  Plus, I have not had any time to even sit down and attempt to write it.  But I have some time now because I've got some crazy muscle cramps going on and I need to sit for a while with my feet up.

I will start with a few paragraphs I wrote before we left our house in Lincoln...

We ended our time in Lincoln just like it began almost eight years ago-

Seth and I have very distinct memories of signing all the paper work and getting the keys to our new house and then just sitting on the floor in our living room.  We were so excited for what was to come-a new marriage and a new home!

Now, we are just as excited to expand our family in a new house that we are also in love with!  But it is sad leaving the place that you have called home for so long.  It gave me that sinking feeling in my stomach.  We spent our last night in Lincoln with our good friends at Culver's.  I had to take advantage of the awesome BOGO deal on medium concretes (something they don't offer at the Culver's in Blooming-Normal).

Back to the present...

Leaving that house was VERY difficult.  I had the hardest time shutting the front door knowing I will never go back.  In fact, I couldn't do it.  Seth had to do it.  After I shed all my tears and we made it through the closing where we had a chance to meet the buyer, I felt better and was ready to move on up the highway.

There were some touch and go moments for me during the move, but I survived.  My lowest point hit on Saturday afternoon when we were in the midst of packing.  Seth finally had to make me sit down for a while (after he offered me a snickers bar).

The overall moving process went great!  We have to thank all of our great friends and family because everyone really came through and made it so much easier on us.

My mother and mother-in-law even stayed for an extra day and helped me unpack and organize.  I am especially thankful to them for painting the pantry (one of my favorite parts of the new house).

A big shout out to my friend Sarah W. for her amazing organization skills.

Thanks to all of the great help, we got done in a few days what I thought would take me weeks (and it probably would have at the speed I'm moving at now a days).

We had one major casualty from the move...all of my dinner plates were destroyed.

But I'm happy to report that thanks to an awesome deal at Tuesday Morning I now have brand new dishes and a red themed kitchen is in the making!

So far we LOVE everything about the house and the neighborhood (people were greeting us the minute we pulled up Tuesday afternoon).

The commute to work is 5 minutes so I feel like I'm able to sleep in everyday.  But I have to say it's going to take a while for it to feel like home, of course.  We kinda feel like we're on vacation or something.  One other thing that will take a while to get used to is living in a two story house with a basement.  That's a lot of stairs!  Maybe it will help me shed some of the baby weight after Cecil arrives :)

I'll have to provide a pregnancy update later in the week because I've already jammed enough into this post.  We have a sonogram tomorrow and are super excited to see how big Cecil is getting!  I just realized today that I'm 5 weeks away...and I nearly freaked out.  So much to get done between now and then.
