Big Changes

You already know that our life is going to soon be turned upside down when baby Cecil arrives but I have some news to share about some other changes with the Brockmeyer family.  No, I'm not having twins!  I would have told you that by now.

We will soon be Normal...I mean IN Normal :)

The only way I can describe what has happened in the last few weeks is by saying there has been some divine intervention in our life.  Prayers have been answered.  Worries calmed.

I have to admit I recently had convinced myself we were not going to move to Normal anytime soon, due to the difficulties with selling our house.  My prayers had changed from, "please let us sell our house" to "please let Your will be done in the home situation".  I sometimes struggle with change and making big decisions because it isn't always clear to me where God wants to lead me.  But I think this answer was pretty clear due to the circumstances of the situation.

We are swapping houses with a couple from Normal.  They had looked at our house about a month ago.  We knew they were from Normal and had a house to sell, but never found out where it was (because it wasn't on the market at the time).  In the meantime, Seth is always checking online and we keep an inventory of homes we would be interested in looking at, if anyone ever got serious about buying ours.

The couple from Normal looked at our house again a few weeks ago and they were serious.  They wanted it!  They hadn't made an offer but our realtor told us about their interest and gave us the address of the their home that was for sale.  I couldn't believe it when he texted me.  It was a home we had already spotted and were VERY interested in looking at!  It was we wanted so we didn't waste much time.  After looking at some other homes we decided to make an offer.  We told them we'd buy theirs, if they buy ours.  The rest is history!
Right now we're working through all the final details of inspections, etc.  But if all goes according to plan we'll be in the new home by mid-September.

I won't be lifting too many boxes for this move.  I'll just be bossing (what I do best).

This could be a perfectly timed move, if I go into nesting mode in time to unpack!

  1. Great news! Not easy to 'let go and let God'!
You will have plenty of help to 'boss'
