If Things Go According to Plan

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".  Jeremiah 29:11

Things don't always go according to MY or OUR plans (I'm sure this isn't some big revelation to anyone readying this).  I'm learning to deal with it.  I'm a planner.  My mind is always planning my next step.  My brain doesn't rest.  As I've told you before, I'm trying to give up some control in my life and let my mind relax, but it's not easy.

The past three days have been an emotional roller coaster.  Just when I had life planned out for how it would be to leave Lincoln and move to Normal...things did not go according to my plan.

Friday morning we got word from our Realtor that our home buyers had backed out of the contract.  There were a few things (things are Realtor considered minor) that came up on our home inspection.  However, the buyers did not even want to work with us.  They were no longer interested in buying our house.  Period. End of story.  Our contract to purchase their house is null and void because of the deal we had arranged. It's unlikely we will find someone to purchase our house quickly enough to try to put in another offer on their home.

So I'm learning to be content.  There's too many good things happening in our life everyday for me to let this ruin my attitude!  I've got Cecil kicking me all the time to remind me of what's really important.

  1. Soo sorry, hon! Too bad I can't wave a magic wand and make things work! :-) 'Cecil' is just nudging you to remind you to count your blessings. In the 'right' time everything can and will work out.
