I am a big talker. I was psyching myself up to eat 6-8 donuts for this year's Tour de Donut but I decided after only three of those glazed sugar bombs that I was going to listen to my stomach and stop.
We rode without paying much attention to the speed or distance-it was nice to not worry about that. I did find myself saying "on your left" constantly as I passed other riders. I personally was not passed many times :) (I must confess that I started towards the middle of the pack so the speedy riders were in front). There were about 1,500 riders.
I was a little freaked out at first because there were many riders who apparently didn't know the basic rules of riding in large groups. Like you don't try to pass someone on the right side of the rode going down a steep hill...and yell at me "I need some road" then fly by and curse as you apologize. There was also a few people who couldn't make it up the hill and were walking there bicycle up the left side.
But I managed to finish injury free in 881st place!
Final time- 2:40:20
Donut Count- 3
