I made it through this much of the summer training without focusing on any particular race. But I got the itch and now I'm going crazy. I've decided on an aggressive schedule for the rest of the summer and into the fall. The first event is in less than two weeks. I signed up for the Stoneman Triathlon in Springfield on July 28. It's a 500 yard swim, 12 mile bike & 3.1 miles run. The night that I signed up I had nightmares about going to train at Lake Springfield and finding a giant piece of poop floating in the water. The dream also included small fish leaching onto my toes. Man, do I hate lake water.
Here's the rest of the races I plan to participate in- subject to change :)...
July 21-5K for Orphans (Lincoln)
July 28-Stoneman Triathlon (Springfield)
September 8-Top of the Hill 5K (Mt. Pulaski)
September 16-Shoreline Classic 15K (Decatur)
September 29-We Care Twin Cities Half Marathon (Normal)
October 6-ISU Town & Gown 5K (Normal)
October 13-Abraham Lincoln Healthcare Foundation 5K (Lincoln)
Wow! Now that I typed all those out I feel like I need to get to bed and get some rest.
