Nothing is Safe at 17 months

The little man is into everything! His new move is climbing up on the chairs at the table. He also reaches for stuff on top of the counter. He helps himself to the pantry and likes to pull things out and bring them to us. He also still likes to throw about everything so I get a little nervous when he carries around my little glass jar of curry paste. So far he hasn't tried to throw it but it's always the first thing he goes for. I should probably just move it up to a higher shelf. Ha!

But taking this month's picture was a little painful. He always picks up the wooden blocks, which are fairly heavy. This time one got thrown at my head :-/

He is learning so many new things and comprehending so much more. He had a cup with water that was leaking on the floor and without me saying anything he went and got the kitchen towel and wiped it up. That was a proud mommy moment for me. But the best just happened. As he was sitting in the rocking chair eating an apple (that he helped himself to in the pantry) I was doing some things in the kitchen. I saw him and thought it was just adorable the way he was sitting there. But then a minute later I heard a door and looked over to see he wasn't sitting there anymore. I figured he was in the bathroom and went to make sure he wasn't dunking his apple in the toilet. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. He had spotted his shoes on the couch across the room and had gotten them and was putting them away in our coat closet where we keep them. I was so proud I almost cried.

He still isn't saying too much but is sure trying to communicate with his own gibberish. A few of the words he says are "all done", "bubbles", "whoa", "Willa", "apple" & of course "mom" & "dad". He also has the cutest little laugh. His personality seems to be different than Willa's, but he is mischievous!

One of his favorite things to do right now is flush the toilet (much better than playing in the water). He also likes to "help" me unload the dishwasher and sweep. It's so cute how he picks up on things so quickly.

Our annual pics from Radar Farms...

Poor boy gets grabbed by the neck a lot.
I left for a conference for a few days and he got sick the day I left. He had strep throat :(
I think right here he is not too happy mom is gone and telling dad "I don't drink breast milk in cups...only from mom".
He did start feeling better before I got home!

We are going to Miss Laura's The Music Class while sis is in preschool.
Ready for Fall thanks to Granni! She has been busy knitting...
This is one of my favorites. <3 He's not too sure how to handle this little lady-his friend Aubrey from down the street.
