Four Years Flashes By

My baby girl has grown up so much over the past year. Time. Slow. Down.

Here is our yearly questionnaire:

What is your favorite thing to do? Paint
What do you want to be when you grow up? A Paleontologist
What is your favorite food? candy
What do you do really well? Paint
What makes you laugh? A joke
What is the best time of the day? When we go out to get treats
What are you afraid of? That's a hard question...I'm afraid of big bad whales and bad tigers that are coming to eat me
Who is your best friend? You (mom)
What do you like to do with your family? I like to go to the fair and ride rides
Where do you like to go? Muesum
What is your favorite book? I don't know
What is your favorite song? Happy
What is your favorite show? Cat in the Hat
What is your favorite color? Purple and pink and turquoise and black

Can you believe she said I was her best friend? She did tell me that the other day too. But then she also tells me I'm a bad mom every once in a while. I guess I'm doing it right. Ha! She might be growing up and starting to sass me but she still asks me to pick her up and wants us to snuggle with her on the couch. She also tells me to put my arm around her when we are reading a book.
She has some big emotions now and has started sassing me. Let the fun begin. She told us the other day how she didn't like that we get to make all the decisions. We've been explaining to her lately how we are the mom and dad and we make the decisions. When I asked her what decisions she didn't like she said that she can't watch shows all the time. The girl loves her Cat & the Hat show and wants to watch it non-stop.

She is loving preschool. She has gotten very comfortable in the water after taking swim lessons, but we are taking a break from those right now. She was making progress but would often complain about going. One time she had a bad attitude during her lesson and actually got kicked out of the pool :0 Her instructor doesn't mess around, which is good for her. I asked him if he thought that it was because I was watching that day (I usually have to stay in the other room with Leo but didn't have him with me that day). He said he wasn't sure but he thought it was really just Willa being Willa. Story. Of. My. Life.  We enrolled for another session of gymnastics because she is loving it.

She loves to draw & color. She also has a huge imagination and we are constantly playing something that involves being someone or something else. Another super cute thing she does is narrate things like she's reading a book. So for example, I tried to help her with her dress the other day and she said "no, I can do it myself." Then quietly to herself she said..."Willa said as she slid her dress on over her head." I just love it when she does that. She gets that from all that book reading :-) She still loves to read and we have graduated to chapter books. She is also really into listening to books on tape. In fact, we rarely use the built in DVD player in our van. I just get audio books and she listens to them instead.

Her food allergies are still the same-no dairy, eggs, peanuts, coconut, and most tree nuts. Things are improving and we keep close tabs on it all with yearly testing but still haven't been able to add anything back into her diet on a permanent basis.

We celebrated her 4th birthday with the grandparents, Uncle Tracy & cousin Carly. The girls had a blast spending the day together.

It was very difficult to go back through and pick out just a few pictures...

She has become quite the candy (or in her words "gooey treat") addict.

In July we went to a Cornbelters game (Frontier League Baseball). She got hit with a foul ball :-(
She insisted on sleeping with the ball that night. She is one tough little girl.

 She started Pre-K in August.

Some say it's just a trampoline. At our house it's Willa's gymnastics bar too.

Ringing the bell for earning a new sticker at swim lessons.
