So Long 2016

I know many people who were more than ready to say goodbye to 2016. Some suffered personal heartaches of many kinds others who are just fed up with things happening in the world. Yes, there were some things that really frustrated me (some days I'm still shaking my head) but life goes on.  I choose to focus on my faith and remember that we live in a fallen world where we can cling to the hope of Christ.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10

There are many bible versus that we can hold onto as we ring in 2017.  For the New Year my family is going to do our best to chose JOY in our house as we cherish the sweet memories from 2016.

Most importantly our best memory- the birth of our precious baby boy Leo Wynn.  For me, nothing else in this world is like the miraculous birth of a baby.

Baby boy has brought so much happiness to our lives.

At four months old Leo took his first trip to Seattle with Mom & Dad (dad was there for work training).  Willa enjoyed a few days with grandparents.

Willa has grown up so much over the past year.  She moved to her own big girl bed, can sleep through the night and has learned to be a great big sister.

She started attending "school" also!  She is part of MOMS (Morning Out for Moms) at Calvary Baptist Church.  She attends one morning a week and loves it.

Seth had his one year anniversary with Country Financial in August and is enjoying his job and the management responsibilities that stretch him.

He also stuck his feet in a little mud this year and started doing some occasional trail running.  He completed his first ever half-marathon trail run and decided he needs to train a little more before the next one.

I started serving as coordinator of my MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group and have enjoyed the opportunity to support others in their motherhood journey through the group.  I have continued my leadership work with the greeting team at our church. With mixed emotions, I did step away from my work with Dan Brady as I found it was hard to balance it with two children.

Seth and I celebrated 11 years of marriage by doing something new--indoor rock climbing!  We both were terrified at first but faced our fears and eventually made it to the top.

It was thrilling and exhausting.  Much like 2016 has been for us!
