Happy Holidays

December was a fun month.  Willa was very into the Christmas season.  One of my most favorite memories will be me trying to explain why we are celebrating Jesus' birthday but Jesus wasn't coming.  That conversation got pretty deep with lots of questions so I did my best to explain and then eventually changed the subject.  :-)

I took Willa to see our local production of the Nutcracker.  I wasn't sure how well she would sit through it. She surprised me.  She asked tons of questions and gave me lots of commentary during the show.  At intermission I asked her if she wanted to leave and she choose to stay!  We didn't make it all the way to the end, but I was impressed with how long she did make it.

Our first significant snow was on a day that Seth was out of town for work so I couldn't really go outside and play with Willa.  But that didn't stop her.  She suited up and was content to go out back.  Much like previous winters her favorite thing to do was eat snow.  This time I actually made her some snow ice cream and it was a hit.

Leo and I rang the bells for the Salvation Army this year with some friends from my MOPS group.  We were in a nice warm spot inside the mall.
We had a countdown going for Christmas.
Willa had her first Christmas program at Calvary Baptist Church where she attends MOMS (Morning Out for Moms) once a week.

This year we visited Santa for the first time ever.  First time I've seen Willa speechless.

We also made Christmas cutout cookies, which almost made me lose my mind but we all survived.
A little fun photo shoot on Christmas Eve.

Opening Christmas presents was fun for all.

And Willa was very afraid of the Grinch this year.
But when I asked her what would happen if the Grinch came and stole all her presents she told me "The Grinch is not in this world".
