Apparently I get the babies who don't enjoy long stretches of sleep! I laughed as I looked back at Willa's four month update. I could pretty much just copy and paste most of it onto here. Leo had us fooled with his newborn sleepiness. Now he enjoys 30 minute naps and waking up many times throughout the night. But let's not dwell on sleep. I'll blink and my baby won't be a baby anymore so I'm going to focus on other stuff that's going on with my little chunky monkey.
He is a happy baby! He turns on the charm for strangers. He's good when we are on the go. We just got back from a trip and he was great. More about that in a separate post later. It really is hard to get into a routine with the second baby because we are on the go a lot to keep Willa entertained. We are typically out and about in the morning then come home for the afternoon so I can try to get a nap at home for Leo and quiet time for Willa. Then we count down the minutes until daddy comes home and hope we don't all lose our minds before that happens.
He still hates his car seat for the most part. Sometimes I get a few minutes out of him but most of the time he just screams. I avoid any out of town trips unless they are really necessary.
He loves watching his big sister and will laugh and coo-coo to her (what she calls it). He really does watch people. Even a lady at the airport commented on how she couldn't believe the way he was watching his daddy.
Still no teeth yet but he is drooling a ton! He also chews on his hands all the time. It's funny to watch him when he tries to get his entire fist in his mouth. He isn't able to hold onto chew toys for very long yet.
For about a week I thought I was going to have a thumb sucker. I was actually hoping for that. He doesn't take a pacifier (despite my best attempts to get him to). He also hasn't taken to the bottle...just like Willa. It doesn't bother me as much this time around because I figure I made it through one child that took nothing but the boob so I can make it through another.
I hate to always compare him to Willa, but isn't that what parents do? You expect that things might happen along the same timeline or compare to see how different their personalities are.
Willa got her first teeth right about this time. We also started noticing some of her allergies around four months. So I will be keeping close tabs on him.
