Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

This Christmas was a lot of fun because Willa truly enjoyed it.  Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year.  I especially love to decorate.  But for some reason this year I just really wasn't feeling it.  So I did cut back some and not put all my stuff out but it also helped me to really enjoy the season and not stress about getting stuff done.  We didn't make a big deal out of Santa this year.  In fact, I don't think Seth or I really mentioned him at all.  Willa just picked up on it through books and the culture around her.  Since Willa has tended to be afraid of large characters I decided it wasn't worth it to go wait in line or pay money for her to sit on Santa's lap, especially if we didn't really talk about Santa coming to our house.  But one day we were in Uptown Normal and Olaf was there.  She was so excited and not afraid at all.  So that was even better than seeing Santa I guess.  I should mention that she has never seen the movie Frozen.  Ha!

She had her first French braids for Christmas.  They actually stayed in really good because I put a bunch of product in her hair.  The only way I could get her to sit still long enough to braid was to sit her in front of the TV.
The traditional pictures by the Christmas tree...

Got almost everyone to look at the camera for a Walch family picture.

Willa and I partied hard at our church and celebrated the New Year at noon.

Willa celebrated her friend Harper's birthday with her.  Here's what happens when you try to get a one and two year old to pose for a picture.  It just doesn't work.
I'm obsessed with taking sleeping pictures.  I just love to watch her sleep because she's so peaceful.

We don't rock as much now because she has moved to a big girl bed.  But she still loves to rock and needs it sometimes.

I was ready before our big January snow!  We went to Farm and Fleet the night before to get boots and a sled.

We took her to an awesome hill in town (Jersey Hill).  It was fresh snow and there weren't many people there since it was a school day.  She didn't really have much of an interest in sledding down.  That might have been a good thing for me because I'm not sure how many times this pregnant Momma could have made it back up to the top.
She was most interested in pulling the sled and eating the snow. But when her daddy took her a few days later she loved it. Worked out well for me.
