I decided it was now or not for a long time so I took a trip to see my friend Stephanie in New York City!
I had a wonderful time. I love visiting there but I would not want to live there. Stephanie actually lives in Jersey City and commutes to NYC each day for work. I learned all about public and private transit over the long weekend, like there are just some smells that pregnant women shouldn't have to endure.
We started my visit by going to the Kelly & Michael show (at my request). It was quite the morning and I was feeling it by the end of the day. We got up at 5 a.m. so we could go stand in line with our standby tickets and wait. Waiting is one thing, but waiting in the snow and wind when you're seven months pregnant is another thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining because it was my choice.
We stood in line for about an hour and a half before they finally let us in. They need to work on their entry process because I personally think it could have been done much quicker.
Once we got in we did get some good seats. Although we were in the balcony, we were almost in the very middle.
Even though it was a bit miserable to get there, I really enjoyed it and I'm glad we went. The show went by quickly but I did get a little tired of clapping by the end.
Leslie Mann was one of the guests that day. I didn't know the other guest but thought it was kinda funny when she came walking about because she was like nine months pregnant.
Other highlights of the trip included shopping and FOOD! Lots and lots of yummy food...
Our big accomplishment of the weekend was walking the length of Central Park. We did a lot of walking the first full day I was there and I was really feeling it. Check out the stats from my creepy iPhone that's always tracking me...
I wasn't sure if I would be able to make it through the park but with some breaks here and there I was fine. I think Stephanie was complaining more in the end than I was! (sorry Stephanie)
Here is the final path of the park. We had to go down and then up again. Notice- we could have cheated and walked along the road, but we didn't!
We made it out just before dark and it was a great way to end a great weekend!
