Brockmeyer Family Vacation

This summer was our bi-annual Brockmeyer family vacation.  This time we went to the Ozarks.  Osage Beach area to be exact.  Seth's parents rented a big house for a week and everyone could come and go as their schedules allowed.  We had a great time.  The weather was fantastic.  It rained one day and in my opinion, didn't really ruin anything.  I happened to be putting Willa down for a nap when it started pouring so if I recall correctly I just stayed with her on the bed a little while longer and did some reading.

I'll let the photos tell the story of the trip...

The two that started it all :-)
I was impressed with this selfie.  I'm sure when they texted it to me they never thought it would end up on the internet!  Ha!  It was too good not to post :-)

We rented a boat for one day and spent the day on the water.  I wasn't sure how Willa would like it but she loved it!  As most people know, I hate lake water.  If I could hold my pee in all day I would never get in the water.  This time I got in for Willa.  Since she loved it so much I figured I could suck it up. It grosses me out just looking at the water in these pics.  I prefer a nice chlorinated pool where I can see the bottom!

She wasn't a huge fan of the life jacket

Helping Aunt Kristy drive the boat.  She loved it

Unlike her mom she loved the water

No tubing for mommy & Willa but some enjoyed it

Cousin Carly loves the water too

Carly fell asleep and took a good nap on the boat.  Willa had a short one

We both have special eyes

This one cracked me up.  We didn't photograph well on the boat!

Waiting for momma bird to feed us?

Willa was always struggling to get DOWN
Of course Seth and I had to hit up the brewery.  It was a little different taking Willa with.  :-)

We celebrated Grandpa's birthday on the trip.  But unfortunately Willa was in bed already & missed the candles
They had an awesome outlet mall.  I found some new shoes so Seth & I can match now.
Willa ate lots of hamburgers and french fries and was part of the clean plate club (she learns from the best)
She got her nails and toes polished for the first time ever (wouldn't let mom do it before)
She loved the swimming pool.  This was the first time she had ever worn puddle jumpers.  We usually just hold her.

I love that she always gets this big smile on her face when she floats on her back

Daddy needs to work on his floating

She has come so far since the beginning of the summer.  She would not have anything to do with laying back in the water...even when I was holding her.  Now she is comfortable with doing it on her own.
