This past weekend we took Amtrak up to Chicago for the day to meet my college roommate, her husband & daughter. The weather was perfect and Willa was perfect. We had a great time! I wasn't sure how she would do on the train because she has started being afraid of some big and loud things, like the train. So I stayed inside the station when it pulled up, which was a good idea.
We read books and played and she was good for the trip up.
But she didn't like getting off the train at Union Station. She pretty much screamed and clung to me as we walked inside (if you've ever been there you'll understand-it's loud as your walking past all the tracks). She recovered quickly though. She insisted on holding Avery's hand pretty much all day. Avery was so good with her and held it all the time!
Willa absolutely loved Crown Fountain in Millenium Park. But we couldn't stay long because it was too dangerous. We couldn't keep her from running and she fell three times. The last one she smacked her head pretty good so we decided this place was not a good idea! (You can't slow this girl down)
We had pizza at Lou Malnati's and this silly girl was double fisting lemons. She had never eaten them before but apparently she likes them.
She got to walk around the Field Museum. Well, most of the time she was running but she loved the freedom.
We thought for sure with only a 20 minute nap she would fall asleep immediately when I started nursing her on the train. But it took her a while to wind down...
And finally...
