17 Months and She Gets It

Willa is starting to understand so many things and communicate with us so much more.

Someone asked me the other day if it feels like I have a toddler now.  I quickly answered YES!  Willa has developed a little personality and is definitely starting to act like a toddler.  She isn't throwing a lot of fits but she did start flopping down on the floor on her stomach when she gets mad.  It's actually funny, at least for now.  I haven't had to deal with her in public yet.  I still take her to the store with me but know that I have my time limits.  The hardest part of going anywhere is that she just wants to walk and be on the move.  She's very independent (don't know where she gets that).

She continues to get into everything around the house.  She has opened the oven (thank goodness it has only happened once and it was off at the time).  She also recently learned how to press the water dispenser on the fridge.  She is obsessed with eating ice.  I really have no idea why, but she loves it and begs for it.  She climbs on the chairs all the time and it's really only a matter of time before she figures out she can scoot the chair over to the counter to reach things.

We have been spending a lot of time outside.  She just loves to be out in our back yard.  So when the weather is nice we are out there.  I'm going to have to start hitting up the garage sales because we are going to need more yard toys.  She loves the slide on our swing set but she isn't able to climb up to it on her own.
