I'm sure you've heard about it before but I experienced first hand on Saturday how running can be a mental sport. During our 5K race on Saturday, we ran past the first turnaround and went too far. I was pushing it hard and when I realized I was going to have to run further than 3.1 miles to finish the race, I got mad. I told myself there was no way I could keep up the pace and finish. Luckily, Corrinne was wearing her super GPS watch so we pushed it until the watch said we had completed the 5K distance. I ended up walking several times toward the end because of my frustration. But I ended with a smile on my face...
I tried to pose for the camera but Seth was too far away when he snapped the picture.
I like this one, even though it's a little blurry (I was too fast for the iPhone 5)
Brad, me, Corrinne, & J. Rob (we'll work on getting him a bright jacket)
I am ashamed to tell you about all the food I ate after the race on Saturday, but I will. For lunch, we went to our favorite spot-Harvest Cafe in Delavan. Then, Seth made cookie bars that afternoon. Dinner was a burger and sweet potato fries from Smashburger in Bloomington. Corrinne and I went with some girls to a place called Merlot and a Masterpiece (but for me it's more appropriate to call it "beer and a painting to hide in the closet").
On our way home that night we decided to cruise through the Taco John's drive through and eat another meal.
Speaking of food...here's what I'm munching on at work right now. I figure it's not too bad for me since it has peanuts in it :)
