19-months and All Boy

My smiley boy is always on the go. He continues to explore all things around the house--including things he shouldn't like night lights, kitchen drawers (that never had to be locked for Willa), and the toilet. He loves to run just like his big sis. I'm thankful for a home that has a nice open circle floor plan on the main level. The kids do laps around it often. He doesn't like diaper changes or getting dressed. He's become an expert at running from me when it's time for a diaper change!

We started exploring the potty this month even though I know that training is a long way off. He has sat on it a couple of times and thinks it's fun...but no luck doing what he's supposed to do on there. He has started telling us "poop" when he's pooping, so I guess that's a good step in the right direction.

He still loves to play with any kind of truck or car he can push. He also likes balls or throwing anything that looks like a ball. The whole nature vs. nurture thing is interesting. We haven't done much different with him compared to Willa but some of these interest really are just his nature. Seems like he is all boy when it comes to that stuff. He gets excited when we see big trucks or tractors and likes watching the garbage truck.

One of his new words is "walk". When he wants to do something or have you follow him he will grab your hand and say walk. He isn't very independent like I remember his sis being at this age. He will play on his own sometimes, but he still likes mom to be close by most of the time. At the park the other day Willa was gone in a flash and off making new friends. Leo wanted me to play with him the entire time. If I got out of his sight I would hear him yelling my name looking for me.

His dancing is so funny. It's more like a prance with spirit fingers :-) With the arms in the air I think he must have learned his moves from his dad.

Leo and Willa are both loving all things Christmas. We've only had the tree up for a few days and so far Leo is doing okay with it.

He is starting to sleep a little better at night but he is still not consistently taking a good nap. I keep waiting for it to happen...because it eventually did for his sis. But for now if I get him down, I don't typically get more than 30 minutes and he needs more. But he is pretty much happy all the time, even if he only got a short nap.
We nailed the re-creation of the photo above. I am proud because getting these two to hold still AND smile is next to impossible.

This past month we went to Texas for cousin Hanna's wedding. It was a great trip. Leo's third plane ride in his lifetime. The last time we went to Texas Willa was Leo's age!
Leo was good on the plane but it was exhausting. Of course, he wanted to be on the move. His favorite spot was the floor between my legs.
The kids loved the children's museum in San Antonio--We went there twice.

Cousin Hanna and Barrett's wedding was beautiful.
Leo was wearing a tie that Granni made out of one of Grandpa Harry's ties <3

Dad was a regular at the photo booth.

 Fun at the aquarium...

He's also really into hats, headbands and putting things over his head. It's pretty funny to watch him walk around with buckets or bags on his head when he can't see where he's going.
He wasn't a big fan of jumping all in the leaf pile.

He likes to go down slides head first.
