Flying South with Four

We survived our first extended family vacation! In fact, we not only survived we thrived on the trip. I wasn't worried about taking the kids, they are usually pretty good about going with the flow. But everyone with kids knows that vacation isn't always relaxing. I would say we were able to relax a bit on this trip.

We went to Myrtle Beach where a few of Seth's siblings own some condos. It was perfect. The complex had a nice pool and we were only two blocks from the beach. We stayed in a until with Grandma and Grandpa and they were extremely helpful with the kids. Both did lots of reading in the pink turtle chair.

Willa had an absolute blast. She had been looking forward to this trip and was very excited about the beach. I think it lived up to her expectations.

But she said her favorite was actually the pool.

She made a huge break through with her swimming skills while we were there. And she has the most epic belly flop.

Leo didn't like the pool unless we just let him play and climb in and out on the steps. He liked the beach the best.

Seth was "beached out" after about two days. But he suffered through a few more trips to the sand ;)
I'll admit, it is a bit annoying because it's impossible to get all the sand off! But I enjoy just sitting and reading or resting. Thanks to helpful family members I didn't have to chase the kids the whole time!

Chasing Leo seems to be the only thing I do now a days. He is in to everything!
And it's so much harder when you're not in your own house. So it was a big challenging at the condo until I moved a few things around and put some stuff up.

Overall, we were impressed with how well both kids were, especially Willa. She didn't have a single meltdown and bed time went smoothly every night.

We look forward to future trips to Myrtle Beach!
