Leo's 14 Month Update

This is one of those months when I've got no creative juices, hence the title of this update. I'm lucky to get these words down as it seems like we have less and less time. I've been very intentional about not filling up our schedule so it's all good stuff. Like playing outside in the water table, stroller rides, pool time, etc. Plus Leo has entered another attachment phase so it's hard for me to get much done during the day and I'm never up for much after bedtime. So that essentially leaves me zero time to get things done but I'm getting better at letting some things go.

Another daily challenge is keeping track of Leo. He is into everything now. I actually thought the main level of the house was pretty much baby proof, but I've learned it's not curious one-year-old proofed. Some of his favorite activities include unrolling toilet paper, flushing the toilet, opening the lazy susan cabinet and removing all measure spoons, cups and bowls. His other hobbies are chasing the vacuum and "sweeping" the floor. He can hear the pantry, cabinet doors and stair gate open from across the house.

He has learned to go down the steps but it makes me a nervous wreck still to watch him. He's very confident and when someone is walking with him he wants to go down them forward and standing. He's also very independent at the park and tries to climb on everything. He tries to keep up with the big kids all the time!

He loves the splash pad and pool. He still loves the stroller also. He's always so content in there. And will often fall asleep if we time it right.

He is trying to say words. We have noticed that he's making different sounds. We are pretty sure he says "up" and "out". He's starting to like books more.

Some of his favorite toys are the doll strollers. He loves pushing them around the house with random things in them. Balls are also still a favorite. He'll keep himself entertained by throwing it around the house and chasing it.
