This has been a difficult time for me. I've heard everyone goes through this. I just can't imagine Willa not being my baby and having so much love for another child. I've been rocking, snuggling, hugging, and kissing her as much as possible as my due date approaches. For a while I was trying to do things differently to prepare her for not having my full attention, but not so much anymore. I could tell when she hit the point of sensing the imminent change in our house a few weeks ago.
So I want to go ahead and give you her two-and-a-half year update. She is just getting smarter and growing everyday and she knows it. You can't get anything past her or catch her when she runs away!
She is full of energy and literally does run from me. It has become a problem but in the past few weeks she has gotten better. Lots of hand holding and singing Daniel Tiger "stop and listen to be safe".
The past few months have been rough as we have both just been sick a lot. But she's back and full speed and ready for spring weather because she loves to be outside. When it's too cold to go out she tells me she can just put her coat and hat on and go. Every time we see a mud puddle she reminds me I need to get her some rain boots so she can play in the water. She loves swinging, playing in her sandbox, and of course going to the park. She still likes stroller rides to as long as she gets to walk a little on the way back home.
She is still a little book worm. That's about the only way to get her to hold still for any period of time. She's trying to give up her nap so some days we have quiet time and she will look through a stack of books while sitting on her bed.
Night time sleeping has gotten much better! She likes her big girl bed with her quilt that Grandma Ginny made for her.
She sleeps in there all night with usually only one wake up.
Here are some photos from the last few months...
And I'll leave you with some awesome dance moves. She was pretty excited about the live music at Von Maur.

Willa is such a sweeti! So smart and full if fun! What a blessing your 'first born' is and will always be!
