I'm talking about the Town of Normal. Not our family. You should know we are far from normal. It has been about eight months since we moved to Normal and we can confidently say we are glad we decided to move. We hated leaving our friends behind but it's much easier being up here.
We really love living in Normal for many reasons? We especially love our house. It was move in ready (which was good because we didn't have much time before Willa arrived). There are some paint colors I'm not in love with but I can tolerate them until I have the motivation to paint. We (Seth) have done some projects throughout the house and I'm pretty impressed with our (his) work ;)
We painted Willa's room.
And we used the leftover paint to do our half bath on the main level.

After...
Seth also built an awesome cabinet and drying rack for the laundry room.
I still have a lot of organizing in the basement to do. But it's low on my list of priorities. It will be a good fall project because who wants to work in the basement during the spring?
Besides the house there are other perks to living in Normal.
It is very runner friendly. It was awesome this winter to have the trail only a mile from our house. It was usually cleared of snow quickly.
I'm also impressed with the town waste services (it's easy to get this small town girl excited). We put all of our recyclables in one big can and they are collected weekly (single stream recycling). We can also leave a giant piece of furniture or a tree out front and they will collect it too. It's nice to see our tax dollars at work.
We are also enjoying some extra cash each month since our auto fuel bill has gone down considerably. I only fill up about once a month now. It also helps that Seth is able to ride his bicycle to work.
And last but not least...we live about five minutes from Target, Kroger, Bed Bath & Beyond and all kinds of other shopping. The mall is about ten minutes away!
