Willa Turns Three

Every birthday just keeps getting better.  Willa was so excited for her birthday this year.  For days leading up to it she would keep asking me "Is it my birthday yet?"  When the day finally arrived she was on cloud nine. We had a purple party.

This girl is a ball of fire and most days I can hardly keep up. She is so smart and doesn't miss anything.  We can't have a conversation in front of her without her following right along and asking questions about what we're talking about.  I thought it would be fun to start a tradition of asking her some questions each year....

What is your favorite thing to do? I don't know
What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a postman
What is your favorite food? apples and crackers
What do you do really well? color
What makes you laugh? funny things
What is the best time of the day? swimming time
What are you afraid of? monsters
Who is your best friend? Kennedy, Hudson and Emma
What do you like to do with your family? I love to play with Leo
Where do you like to go? To the pool
What is your favorite book? Mirror
What is your favorite song? Itsy Bitsy Spider
What is your favorite show? The bear show
What is your favorite color? Purple

I've got so many pictures that I want to share from the past six months.  They pretty much tell the story of what Willa has been up to and how her personality shines through.

First and foremost...her she is at the dyer vent airing herself out!?

She loves to play outside and get dirty.  Here she is at one of her favorite spots-Sugar Grove Nature Center.

She loves to play dress up.
She took swim lessons for the first time.  She struggled a little at first following the rules but seemed to love it.  But by the end she was pretty stubborn about putting her face in the water.  She didn't seem to be afraid just hit a wall and didn't want to advance.

Swim suit with gloves and hat...makes sense, right?
Retesting for her allergies, something we do every year.  Some of them seem to be improving but after trying to reintroduce dairy it still seemed to bother her. So she is still allergic to eggs, dairy, peanuts, several tree nuts (cashews are  the worst), and coconut.

She did the kids fun run this summer with the local run club and loved it!
Had her first dental check-up with Dr. Baker and did great!  Not scared at all.
LOVES to hang out with Uncle Tracy
Gets to walk in the grocery store when it's just her and mom and has even gotten to push a little cart (but that's only when mom is feeling extra patient).  She runs into everything!

Loves her brother and always wants to smother him.

Has overcome her fear of the "Big Reggie".

Started attending MOMS (Morning Out for Moms) at Calvary Baptist Church in September.  She goes on Tuesday mornings and really likes it. This was on her first day...
Spent a lot of time out at Rader Farms this year.
Climbing out at Rader...it's hard to keep shoes on this girl.  She is always taking them off.
She's a climber...
