Seth thinks I'm nuts, but I'm used to it. I recently purchased Willa a new necklace. But this isn't just any necklace. It is most commonly referred to as a teething necklace, but it's not what you might think. She cannot chew on it. It's a Baltic Amber necklace know for soothing fussy, teething babies (depending on who you ask). If you're really curious about how, you can read the description here. I figured it was worth my $25 to give it a try. I just hate having to give her Tylenol or any other type of medication at this point unless it's absolutely necessary. Seth just keeps calling me a hippie.
So that led me to wonder, am I really a hippie? I don't think I dress like one, for the most part (even though sometimes I secretly wish I did). Although, there are a few things I do that might make one think I have hippie tendencies. So I started making a list in my head and figured I would share it with you and see what you think.
Some of this stuff might make you wonder about me...but that's okay :) I'm not afraid to share.
-I have made my own laundry detergent, yogurt and lotion.
-I don't always use soap in the shower. I don't think it's always necessary and just dries out my skin. If I do use soap it's always Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap (http://www.drbronner.com/).
-I don't wear perfume anymore and usually wear unscented lotion.
-I recently started going no-poo--I am using a water and baking soda solution to wash my hair).
-I love using coconut oil for anything & everything.
-I do most of my household cleaning with vinegar and water.
-I cloth diaper and use cloth wipes.
-I love baby wearing (carrying Willa around in a sling).
If any of this has freaked you out you can take comfort in knowing that I still shave my legs and armpits.....for now :)

there's hope for the legs and pits.....<3
ReplyDeleteNot to worry....being a Hippie is a good thing! Maybe you just listen to the beat of your own drum.....you would come by that honestly. :-)
