There are a few things in life that I think I should be able
to refuse to do….
When Seth and I were out on a bicycle ride a while back I
had a flat tire. I decided I would give
it the old good college try and change the tire right there along the side of a
country road about 10 miles from home. I
gave it my all with Seth guiding me step-by-step but I was not able to
finish the last step and put the tire back on.
After that I decided that if I ever had a flat while I was out riding, I
would just call for a car ride home.
I got another flat recently, but luckily it was after a ride. Seth seemed to think that I needed to at
least try to change the tire. I argued
and said there are just some things I don’t do and changing a bicycle tire is
one of them. He thought that was ridiculous. It didn’t seem like a big deal to me because I
knew that I couldn’t really do it all on my own. So why would I want to get my hands dirty and
change the tire when he could just do it for me? Well, I eventually stomped off put on my
angry face and went out in the garage and tried to change the tire. This time I failed at step one—couldn’t even
get the tire off.
So as I’m thinking about it, there are a few things I think
are just better left for the man of my house :
#1-changing bicycle tires
#2-cleaning toilets
#3-fixing all electronics
#4-brewing beer
#5-cooking (although I do chip in occasionally)
#6-putting the jug on the water cooler
#7-turn his socks right side out when I do laundry
Yes, I do consider myself a lucky wife :)
You are a good learner! ;-). I would have to put #8 Runnng the sweeper!
